Dare #14: Home sweet home

First, I apologize, because I've been a bit away lately, and completely forgot about the Ottomas makeover *blushes* so we'll leave that one running a bit longer and post the show-off for both dares (#13 and #14) together in a couple of weeks.

So now, who's up for a quick building challenge!!? ;)

For dare #14 will move to Veronaville, and fix up a home for Albany's family (Capp) . Including the sims is optional, but you must keep the hood's style, and that particular family's needs in mind for their house.

The twist? This family comes in the bin, therefore they only have a limited amount of money to moved in initially, and wouldn't like to arrive in a empty lot either, so we'll start the challenge using a house they could afford, but you'll be able to expand and modify it at will (as long as it respects the hood's overall look).

We will building for Albany/Goneril Capp and their children. (Miranda, teen; Hal older kid; Desdemona younger kid; and Ariel, toddler; but who knows, if you want to get creative imagine they may even be planning to have more in the future)

And they live in Veronaville where all the houses look pretty much alike. Some can be bigger, others smaller, but in general we have to keep the style.

I choose '20 Via Veronaville' as the base lot for this dare, but you can use any of the 3x2 lots available in the hood (most cost around 20,000 which is the initial prize range).

Download the LOT here

And remember that in this case you can expand and modify the house (including all outside walls) , and the yard at will, as long as the final house respects the overall style in the neighborhood.

All CC is allowed, though maxis-match is always encouraged ;)

Questions, doubts, ideas, etc, leave us a comment.

Due date: October, 9

Have fun!! :)

Oh, I've already remade them in the Sims 3, can I please use their Sims 3 versions for the challenge? I can also remake the house =)

Oh wow! Ts3 capps!?? That would be interesting to see!

No problem if you want do it as an alternative, just try to keep the idea as best as you can (the lot should be about 3x2 and the house must look like the ones in VV)

Plus it would be great to stat including a bit of sims 3 in the comm too ;)

I'd love to try this, though I have one question; are we limited by how much the Capps have initially (which is fine for me I think), or can we get them jobs and/or cheat money for stuffs.

oh, yes! it is a building challenge, so the only rule is the starting lot you can use, but no other limits for building, furniture, etc, besides that. (In short, the trick is using a 3x2 lot, and the overall style of the house)

You don't even need to actually play the household, you could just work on the house without the sims, if it's easier. :)

I shall have a go at this.

My poor deleted VV.. *sniff*

If you ever wish to restore your VV, you can get a copy from the original folder that comes with game installation, and paste it in your neighborhoods folder.
There is a more detailed instruction here, jic:

But for this one you can just use the lot available for dl. You don't really need the hood or the sims, only the lot. :)
